Books and Creativity – A Mirror of Spirituality

In recent years, special attention has been given in our country to developing a culture of reading and widely promoting national literature and culture. As is well known, this year the 585th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker Alisher Navoiy was widely celebrated across the country. It is gratifying that spiritual and educational initiatives in this direction have encompassed not only various organizations within the country but also our compatriots abroad. Overall, such events are of great importance in deeply instilling the invaluable heritage of our great ancestors in the hearts of the youth and further elevating the culture of reading in society.
In particular, the "Vatandoshlar" Public Foundation recently organized a literary and educational event in cooperation with the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the forum, a presentation of a number of new books was held.
Among them, the book "Anthology of Uzbek Literature of Tajikistan," prepared for publication by our compatriot and author O'rinboy Usmon, residing in Tajikistan, was presented to the broad public. This work contains the heritage of more than 50 of our writers.
Additionally, the presentation of works such as "Yorkitob" by Sayfullo Qulayev, "What Should a Good Child Be Like?" by Sultonmurod Hojiboyev, and "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Uzbeks of Kazakhstan," co-authored by Sabohat Dustchanova and Abduvali Yo'ldashev, left a warm impression on those gathered. These books tell about the literary heritage of our compatriots living in various countries, their devotion to our spiritual values and national traditions.
In accordance with the forum's program, another important event also took place – an award ceremony for the winners of the "Creative Works Competition," organized by the "Vatandoshlar" Public Foundation in honor of the birthdays of the great thinkers Alisher Navoiy and Zahiriddin Muhammad Bobur.
In this competition, organized in five categories – Poetry, Melody, Stage Creativity, Essay, and Fine Arts – our compatriots living abroad submitted more than 700 creative works. The jury recognized approximately 90 of the best creative works, and their authors were awarded valuable gifts.
These events are significant not only for developing the literary process but also for serving to unite our compatriots living in various countries of the world around our national culture and literature. The role of such initiatives is especially invaluable in promoting the heritage of our great scholars and awakening in the hearts of the younger generation a love for creativity, books, and national values.
